How to keep your Pulse in shape?

Like any electric bike, Pulses require regular maintenance to stay safe and always have a fun ride. Here is a list of general maintenance activities you should do to extend the life of your Pulse ebike.

  1. Check your Pulse before each trip

As part of your safety check, examine your Pulse for wear, damaged components, and tire alignment problems.

  2. Keep your Pulse clean

Dust, salt and dirt can severely damage your Pulse. Keeping your Pulse clean will keep it looking younger for longer. After a busy trip, or every few weeks, clean your Pulse with a damp cloth and non-corrosive cleaning material. Pay special attention to the frame, disc brakes, battery compartment and suspension.

  3. Take it to service
Take it for service no more than every 6 months, although we recommend that it be done every 3. Remember that if your technician has questions or difficulties, they can write to us at hola@pulsebike.mx or call us at (+52) 56 3567 7774.

Service is usually not expensive, and is essential to preserve the life of your Pulse.

Remember to ask your workshop to fill out our technical service form, so that we can know at all times that your Pulse is in good condition. You can see the form by clicking here.

  4. Keep the chain clean and lubricated

As with any vehicle, it is important to keep moving parts clean and lubricated. Clean your chain with a bicycle-specific degreaser. Once the chain is clean and dry, apply a bicycle-specific lubricant to each link wheel according to the product instructions. Complete 1-2 cycles and remove any excess lubricant. Change the chain when it is rusty or damaged.

  5. Change brake pads every 650 - 1000 km

The pads on electric bicycles usually last less than those on normal bicycles due to the speed of the bicycle. Check them regularly and replace them when they are worn out.

  6. Use touch-up paint
