How does a Pulse electric bike work?
There are many types of bicycles, and even more electric bicycles, available on the market. At Pulse we pride ourselves on our high-quality models and unmatched design. So that you can get to know them, we decided to tell you a little more about how they work, in case you are still not clear.
Electric bicycles have 3 fundamental components that make them different from conventional bicycles: electric motor, battery (in the case of the Pulse it is strategically placed under the seat) and an electric controller that works as the brain of your bicycle.
In addition, some more advanced electric bicycles, such as the Pulse, have additional functionalities that make them incredible as a means of transportation, such as a Pedal Assist System (PAS in English) that combines the power of the motor with the effort of the user, creating a unique experience. totally different from that of a conventional bicycle or motorcycle but maintaining the health advantages; or a headlamp for night tours.
The Pulse's assisted pedaling has 5 levels of assistance that are regulated from the LCD screen to determine the maximum speed and acceleration you want depending on your style of use and the terrain you face. The mix between assisted levels, traditional mechanical speeds and the thumb accelerator achieves an unmatched driving experience. Furthermore, with both the PAS system and the accelerator you can reach the same maximum speeds.
The modes of use are interchangeable during the trip so if, for example, you need more acceleration when leaving a traffic light, you can use the thumb accelerator (to have that initial push) and then continue with assisted pedaling at the level you want. Or, in your case, if you want to stay with pure throttle you can do that too, although your maximum range could decrease a little.
Another fundamental factor of the Pulse, which distinguishes us from other electric bicycles on the market, are our KillSwitch sensor brakes. Our brakes have sensors that suspend any current flow to the motor when applied. Otherwise your brakes would have to fight against the great power of the engine. This is a fundamental feature to ensure the safety of our community.
In summary, the Pulse has three modes of use:
1. Traditional Pedaling : with the bicycle off or with the PAS at 0, you will have a conventional bicycle. Thanks to our design and our nylon gear motor it will not feel much heavier than a traditional bicycle.
2. Assisted Pedaling : Where, depending on 5 levels of assistance, your bicycle will help you. It's as if for every turn of the pedals you make, your ebike helps you with 1, or 3, or 5!
3. Thumb Accelerator : For when you need that extra boost of acceleration or energy. Or when you just don't want to pedal. In addition, we offer the option of upgrading to the wrist accelerator if each user wishes.
